The Monighan has been resting,
quietly, in the mountains less than
a mile from town-hidden in the
Sumpter brush and Ponderosa pines
since it last worked here in the
Sumpter Valley. That is
until August of 2008, when some
Members and Volunteers, moved the
Monighan down to it's present home
on display at the Cracker Creek Museum of Mining here in Sumpter!


Since its retirement so many years ago from the Gold Mining Scene
in the Sumpter area, the Monighan has weathered many years of
sitting idle and it shows in recent photos. Like the Gold Dredge,
this once hardworking gold mining machine has been saved from
obscurity by some abmbitous volunteers who are proud to share these Monighan Photos below. Enjoy!
