In addition to viewing our gold mining equipment exhibits, now including the Monighan, museum visitors can actually try their luck with gold panning at the museum! Our museum staff will provide gold panning instructions and the proper tools to ensure the whole family enjoys the experience of panning for gold and the Flea Markets in Sumpter, Oregon! |
Cracker Creek Museum of Mining is easy because the museum is so accesible....... the Museum is located next to the highway as you enter Sumpter, Oregon from the Highway 7 Junction. Visitors can even watch the Sumpter Valley Railroad Steam Train pass by as they search for gold during the Sumpter Flea Markets! the Cracker Creek Museum of Mining in Historic Sumpter, Oregon................ As visitors stroll through the museum grounds during the Sumpter Flea Markets they will enjoy watching the Historic Sumpter Valley Steam Train as it steams by, either from the depot in Sumpter, or heading past the Sumpter Valley Dredge, just up across the road......... |
